About the Instructor:

Aganaq is a multi-disciplinary Aleut artist based in Seattle. She is an enrolled member of the Curyung Tribe, and grew up in the very small towns and fishing villages of Bristol Bay. Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in her commitment to nurturing relationships with the plants and animals that inspire her work, as well as with the lands from which these elements are sourced. This connection to her environment profoundly informs her creative expression and serves as a wellspring of inspiration.
