Join expert weaver Janice Jainga Lonergan (Ts'msyen) as we work with natural dyes. We'll experiment with cross-cultural Indigenous plants grown on site, like Hopi amaranth, Japanese indigo, and African marigold. Janice will walk through each step of the dyeing process and share how she integrates color in her own Raven’s Tail and Chilkat weavings.
Optionally bring shirts or other materials you'd like to try dying (silk and wool take dye especially well). We will also provide yarn and other items for you to experiment with.
This is a two-part drop in July 16 and 17, np RSVP needed
