The Land

Two acres of undeveloped land in Seattle’s Rainier Beach neighborhood sit tucked away from the road. As you walk along the winding trails, you see native plants bursting through the soil, projects and art being created, and hear the creek in the distance, sounds of trees in the wind, and the birds overhead.

On the property, one gets a sense there is something special here. You hear sounds of sparrows, a gurgling creek and a quiet, undulating presence. Old structures like an outdoor fireplace and a fountain evoke a sense of adventure and the long summer days of childhood. Through the labor and love of our community, songs once lost in the development of the land are returning to this creative green space.
